Wildlife trafficking and other crimes push species to the brink of extinction and threaten their habitats and ecosystems. Whistleblowers are the most powerful tool we have to fight wildlife crime, and they need our continued support. In recent years, illegal trafficking has ballooned into a multi-billion-dollar industry that has led to a dramatic increase in wildlife crime. National Whistleblower Center (NWC) has long called for protections for whistleblowers that help put an end to these crimes, and we need your help.

National Whistleblower Center (NWC) educates whistleblowers about their rights and protections, empowering them to come forward with evidence of wildlife crime and combat this dangerous global trade. This education is made more powerful by your commitment to take action.

NWC is busy taking action on behalf of wildlife whistleblowers. We:

• Educate federal agencies such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to promote whistleblower reward procedures and pay whistleblower rewards under the Lacey Act and Endangered Species Act;
• Advocate in Congress to support stronger whistleblower protections such as the Wildlife Conservation and Anti-Trafficking Act;
• Advocate on behalf of wildlife whistleblowers on an international scale by supporting whistleblower motions at the International Union for Conservation in Nature (IUCN) World Conservation Congress;
• Collaborate with wildlife organizations on projects like the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s (IFAW) 2021 report on online wildlife trafficking; 
• Have launched online portals connecting wildlife whistleblowers with attorneys so they get legal help blowing the whistle on illegal trafficking.

And we need your help.
