Whistleblowers have been waiting too long for an effective anti-money laundering Whistleblower program. Brave whistleblowers are the key to ending financial crimes worldwide. But, Congress has failed for years to sharpen up Anti-Money Laundering programs and ensure that every person who knows about money-laundering will be motivated to come forward.
In June, H.R. 7195 received unanimous support in the House Committee on Financial Services. This was a major wins for Anti-Money Laundering whistleblowers in two key-ways: it establishes a mandatory minimum for whistleblower awards and establishes a fund specifically for paying out these awards. But critical amendments need to be taken to a floor vote to become law.
And, in the Senate, S. 3316, a bi-partisan bill introduced by Sen. Grassley and Sen. Warnock, has been sitting in the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs since December 2021 - due to inaction by the Committee's Chairman, Sen. Brown.
The 117th Session of the U.S. Congress will soon come to an end, and without action on these bills today, AML whistleblowers will be left with an inadequate whistleblower program for years to come. Tell Congress that the time has come to fix the FinCen Program and work together for the brave whistleblowers who protect our democracy!

It's critical these changes are implemented as soon as possible. Whistleblowers who know about financial violations that fund the war in Ukraine have already made a huge impact on the success of U.S. sanctions, and these amendments would encourage even more whistleblowers to come forward.
National Whistleblower Center is working to put Anti-Money Laundering whistleblowers at the center of U.S. efforts to enforce critical economic sanctions, but we need your help!
