The PRO Act, amending the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 contains critical protections for whistleblowers that would help stop employers from taking advantage of employees and engaging in activities that violate labor laws.
The PRO Act would protect employees who:
1. Provide information about a potential violation to an enforcement agency.
2. Participate in an enforcement proceeding.
3. Initiate a proceeding concerning an alleged violation or assisting in such a proceeding.
4. Refuse to participate in an activity the employee reasonably believes is a violation of labor laws.
Whistleblower protections combat illegal practices in the workplace and to support workers who
would speak out. These protections deter retaliation and encourage healthy work environments. As your constituent and whistleblower advocate, I ask you to support the PRO Act and take action for the bill's immediate passage.
Take action to pass the PRO Act Today!
The PRO Act has been sitting in the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions since March. It is time for Congress to take action so whistleblowers who face retaliation for speaking up about attempts to squash worker organizing are protected. Please, take action and write to your Senator today.
